How to Use These Devotional Lessons
Each lesson is arranged around the main teaching, key Scriptures, practical reflection and prayer. Use one lesson at a time, read the referenced passages, reflect honestly on the questions, and close in prayer. The lessons are drawn from the supplied YFC service and conference notes and retain their original themes and emphasis.
Lesson 1: Celebrating Closed Doors

Devotional Thought
Not every closed door is from the devil, and not every closed door should make us sad. God can work through closed seasons. A closed door can reveal capacity, redirect us toward His will, or prepare us for elevation. The lesson also calls believers to pray in secret rather than perform spirituality for an audience.

- Capacity Building — some abilities and gifts become visible when circumstances force us to depend on what God has already placed within us.
- Redirection — a closed door can be God’s way of showing that a direction is not aligned with His will.

Lesson 2: Taking Advantage of the Name of Jesus

Devotional Thought
The name of Jesus is at the centre of the Gospel. The lesson emphasizes the need for knowledge and understanding of His name, faith in His name, and a continuing relationship with Him. Jesus is presented as the One who saves, a strong tower and the One whose name carries authority.

- Yeshuwa — The One Who Saves — the name of Jesus points to God’s salvation.

Lesson 3: Why Are We Here?

Devotional Thought
Being born again is not the end of the Christian journey. We are called to understand why we are here and to live according to God’s purpose. A person who knows their purpose lives differently, hungers for the things of God, goes beyond surface-level Christianity and represents the Kingdom as an ambassador.

- Purpose changes how we live — knowing why we are here affects our priorities and decisions.
- Do not live as a “normal Christian” — purposeful discipleship is contrasted with careless, surface-level living.
- Go the extra mile — purpose calls us beyond doing only what is convenient.
- We are ambassadors of Christ — our lives should represent God’s Kingdom well.
- Reject compromise — hunger for the things of God and walk in alignment with His Word.

Lesson 4: Who Am I? — Knowing Christ and Finding Purpose

Devotional Thought
Before answering questions about human purpose, we must understand who Christ is. Purpose is connected to the mind and will of the Creator, not simply to personal preference. God knows and forms people deliberately, and purpose is found in Christ.

- Know who you are, why you are here and what you are to do.
- Purpose is more than what you want; it is connected to what God wants.
- Do not become too distracted to recognize Christ and His work.
- Remember that God knew and formed you before you were born.
- Purpose is found in Christ, and believers are part of God’s bigger story.

We are here for a purpose and are not mistakes. God created and appointed us, and our worth is not defined by our past or by comparison with others. We are sent to represent God, to be salt and light, and to live out the assignment He has prepared for us.
